The Porirua Green Bike Trust is a charitable organisation.
We welcome donations of used and unwanted bicycles. These are assessed by our bike mechanic, who will either repair them for resale or reuse them for parts.
All bicycles sold through the Trust are carefully inspected to ensure they meet safety standards and are roadworthy.
Background
Originally established in 2002 as the New Zealand Green Bike Trust, the organisation was created to provide a free bike programme for residents and visitors in the Porirua central business district.
Today, the Trust operates from Trash Palace in Porirua. A purpose-built bike shed and workshop was officially opened on Saturday, 3 December 2016 by His Worship the Mayor, Mike Tana.
